![]() Which begs the question, how the hell are the old start-positions going to work out?īottomline, i've stopped caring about these teases in dev interviews. That, or they have basically compressed everything so much that there are like half the settlements and half the space between settlements or something. How is it now supposed to be similar in size to game3's map we've seen (which honestly isn't that big to begin with), while at the same time including everything from the previous 2 games "and maybe even a few more" ?ĭunno i think he got stuff mixed up in his reply or something. I remember in those early dev blogs, the combined map was always referred to as "The Very Very Big Map" or something along those lines. I don't know, this really doesn't make much sense to me. They just need to find a good balance which arguably in ME they didn't with how badly cramped Lustria is. There's no point to a gigantic map that drains performance when the player won't ever interact with huge chunks of it on any given campaign. A TW map can only, and should only, be so big. I do understand the disappointment in that but it seems fairly obvious. ![]() In games like Thrones of Britannia and Troy, places like the British Isles and Greece are a normally sized Total War campaign map despite them being just a small part of the map in other games.īasically a lot of the same things they did in the ME map. Like, in Empire Total War the entirety of France is one province and an army crosses it in like 1 turn lol. This whole interview is kinda weird, because on one hand they said it won't be that much bigger (or more modified) from Warhammer 3 map (which I am not sure is actually twice bigger than Vortex Campaign? It feels more like 1.5 to 1.75 bigger, which probably bigger than Mortal Empire, but I don't think by that much.)īut on the other hand they said in the end they will include the whole Warhammer Fantasy world map, which is promising, but I can't see how they will do it if the map isn't that much bigger from Warhammer 3?Įither way, I am cautiously optimistic, because the whole world map is going to open a lot of possibility, but on the other hand I can't see how they are going to do it without changing very much from Warhammer 3 map (maybe the settlement will be very dense, because Warhammer 3's settlements are very far from each other?). We want the whole Warhammer Fantasy world in one map, right? So yeah, it’s gonna be special. It’s a big undertaking and a lot of work, but it was always the promise and the desire to say, ‘ok, if fans have been on this journey with us for three whole games, we want to give them that massive thing at the end.’ We knew from the beginning that that would be the experience everyone would want, and it’s the experience we would want as fans as well. It’s very much a project in its own right, which is why the whole plan around the trilogy has had to bear this in mind – it’s effectively an entire game that’s going out for free.
